Warmth without the weight
Iceflame’s high-loft down provides lightweight, packable insulation for sleeping bags, quilts and down accessories. Independent testing measures its fill power, while RDS certification covers animal welfare and traceability for certified fills.
Independent down testing
Each down batch is submitted to IDFL China for independent testing. The reports below show the measured fill power of samples tested in April 2024 and April 2026. Results are sample-specific and can vary between batches.

What does fill power tell you?
Fill power measures how much space a set weight of down occupies. Higher-fill-power down offers more loft for its weight, helping keep your kit light and packable. Overall warmth also depends on the amount of down, the construction and the fit—not fill power alone.
These bars compare fill-power grades, not warmth ratings. Test results should use the same method and units to be directly comparable.
Responsible Down Standard
The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) protects animal welfare and tracks certified down through the supply chain. It prohibits live plucking and force-feeding, with independent certification checks. RDS covers responsible sourcing, not fill power or temperature ratings.
Iceflame’s 800FP and 850FP Muscovy down is RDS-certified. Certification does not cover every 900FP option, so check the RDS information for your chosen product and fill.
These Control Union transaction certificates cover specific down shipments to Iceflame. They document those shipments, rather than certifying the entire product range or Tanwa Outdoor.

Clean down & moisture management
Down selection and cleaning
Mature-bird down and thorough cleaning help reduce odour. The down is cleaned with PFAS-free cleaning agents.
Selected water-repellent fills
Water-repellent treatment helps selected down fills resist wetting. In Iceflame’s vortex test, treated down lasted 180 minutes compared with five minutes for untreated down. This treatment is not available on every product and does not make a sleeping bag waterproof.
